For years, the claims industry has been one of the largest professional industries without a nationwide resource for all aspects of continuing education. With the advent of the CLM Claims College, that’s changing. Created for industry professionals, by industry professionals, the CLM Claims College educates claims professionals so they can do their current jobs better and gain the knowledge they need to advance their careers. College Faculty includes senior level leaders from both insurance companies and major corporations.

Guided by some of the brightest minds in the claims industry, the Claims College is divided into schools, each focused on a specific audience. During the inaugural year of the College, curriculum will be introduced in four schools — Claims Management, Professional Lines, Transportation and Workers’ Compensation. There will also be a half-day Insurance Industry Primer course that all students are strongly encouraged to attend. Significant CE and CLE credits will be provided.

Each school is comprised of multiple levels and successful completion of all levels in a particular school will earn participants a respected and sought after designation, which will become the industry standard for identifying top-notch claims professionals. For individual schools, levels consist of pre-course reading materials, in-class instruction, group projects and an exam. The Claims College is not your typical industry seminar or conference, this is a true educational experience designed to help educate and grow the claims profession.

To ensure a strong educational environment, service providers, vendors and consultants are not permitted to attend and registration for defense counsel is limited to attorneys with fewer than five years of experience. Additionally, defense counsel registration will be limited to 20 percent of the total student body. Click on each school in the menu above to learn more about the curriculum and learning objectives.
