Biography
Doug is currently an advisor for Suite 200 Solutions LLC, where he focuses his practice in three areas:
1. Litigation Management Program Development, Implementation, and Improvement – including the creation or refinement of guidelines, standard operating procedures, and best practices.
2. Audit and Assessment Services – with a focus on guideline compliance, litigation management best practices, and corrective action plan development.
3. Bespoke Litigation Management Training and Curriculum Development, including effective communication, reporting, guideline compliance, best billing practices, and litigation planning and budgeting.He provides his services to both insurance claims organizations and law firms.
Before joining Suite 200 Solutions, Doug was the chief litigation management officer for Wilson Elser. In that role, he was responsible for quality assurance, client audit services, client compliance programs, legal process improvement, and pricing.
Prior to Wilson Elser, Doug held several positions at AIG, most recently serving as SVP of global litigation best practices, with a core emphasis on the company’s global litigation management programs.
Doug was the SVP of AIG’s claims counsel program, where he developed the company’s litigation management guidelines, improved litigation management processes, and created the company’s litigation training programs, all while overseeing a staff of 30 attorneys responsible for providing litigation management and coverage advice to the company’s claims professionals.
In more technical roles at AIG, Doug served as a complex claims director for property and casualty claims. He also served as a trial attorney of construction site accident and products liability claims in AIG’s staff counsel operations.
Doug has served on the Advisory Board for the CLM (Claims & Litigation Management Alliance), and on the Insurance Roundtable Steering Committee and the Insurance Law Steering Committee of the DRI (Defense Research Institute).
He is a graduate of Cornell University and Brooklyn Law School.
