Session 1 - Session 1 Presentation A - The Utilization of Advanced Technologies in Vehicle Accident Related Litigation
This panel is designed for insurance professionals, risk managers, in-house counsel, and outside counsel handling fatalities or other high exposure losses that result from vehicle accidents. Attendees develop an understanding of how to better utilize forensic science and Vehicle Accident Reconstruction to determine contributory liability in litigation matters. An in-house Risk Manager two Outside Counsel, an ACTAR Certified vehicle accident reconstructionist, and two experienced outside counsel trucking attorneys will serve as panelists. The panelists will educate attendees on litigation matters involving the use of advanced technologies in reconstructing vehicle accidents involving heavy trucks, passenger vehicles, motorcycles, and pedestrian collisions. Panel members also will discuss the pros and cons associated with use of 3-D vehicle crash animations, on-board video systems, GPS systems, and Crash Data Recorders (“Black Boxes”) in trial and/or mediation and how to better manage vehicle accident litigation.

Session 2 - Session 2 Presentation B - Emergency Response to a Catastrophic Trucking Loss
An emergency response to a catastrophic trucking loss will help defend trucking companies at trial. This session will provide a road map for the preservation of evidence from the perspective of a trucking company, an engineer and from a defense attorney. This time-sensitive immediate response will help to gather and preserve evidence to defeat spoliation of evidence claims, and possibly use spoliation of evidence affirmatively against plaintiffs.
