Katherine Bertini (Kate) is Assistant General Counsel at United Technologies Corporation’s (“UTC”) headquarters in Hartford, Connecticut.  She is responsible for developing and leading UTC’s e-Discovery Center that provides e-Discovery support and advice and counseling to UTC and its business units.  In addition, Kate chairs UTC’s Litigation Best Practices team and coordinates litigation reporting requirements.  Kate is also responsible for management of UTC’s Outside Counsel Program, including selection and evaluation of firms, utilization of alternative fee arrangements, and acceleration of firm progress to workforce diversity.

Prior to joining the corporate office, Kate worked at UTC’s Pratt & Whitney division as Associate Counsel where she was responsible for creating a litigation management program at Pratt & Whitney, managing a diverse litigation portfolio, implementing enterprise-wide records management and conducting significant investigations.  She also worked at Otis Elevator Company as Associate Counsel – Litigation where she gained experience on product-related issues such as warnings and retrofit programs.

Kate began her legal career as a clerk for the Hon. Antoinette L. Dupont, Chief Judge of the Connecticut Appellate Court, and as an associate at the law firm of Day, Berry & Howard (now Day Pitney LLP).  She is a graduate of Georgetown University and the University of Connecticut School of Law.

Julie Fortune is Senior Vice President and Chief Claims Officer for Arrowpoint Capital based in Charlotte, NC. The Arrowpoint Capital insurance operation has a 165-year history in the United States, formerly as part of the worldwide Royal & SunAlliance Insurance Group plc. Julie is responsible for the workers' compensation claims management operation.  She has more than 20 years of claims and legal experience in the insurance arena with both ongoing and run-off companies.

Prior to joining Arrowpoint Capital, Julie served as the Vice President of Staff Counsel, Services Provider Group and Claims at Fireman’s Fund Insurance Co., Sr. Vice President Claims Zurich Canada, Vice President – Customer Services Provider Group and National Litigation Manager for Zurich North America, and National Litigation Manager for Liberty Mutual. Throughout her career she has gained extensive experience in claims, organizational transition, and vendor and litigation management.

Julie earned her B.S. degree from the University of Oregon, M.A. degree from the Ohio State University, and J.D. degree from the Antioch School of Law.  She is a member of the Supreme Court of the United States, Tennessee, and Oregon.

She is a frequent speaker at industry events and has been quoted in various publications on the topic of claims and litigation management. She is the current Co-Chair and an Advisory Board member of the CLM, and a Chancellor for the Litigation Management Institute.  Julie is also a member of the American Bar Association and the Association of Corporate Counsel.

Helen is Vice President and Manager of Enterprise Legal Services for the Liberty Mutual Group.  She serves as Vice Chairman of the Advisory Board for the Claims and Litigation Management Alliance.  She is also a member of the ACC Law Department Executive Leadership Group.  Helen has had over 30 years of experience at Liberty Mutual Group including various management positions in the Claims and Legal Departments and the Field Legal Organization.  She assumed her current position in 2005, where her responsibilities include managing the outside legal expenditures for Liberty.  Her group is responsible for analytics on $1 Billion of legal spend.  Her responsibilities also include legal finance, technology, auditing and process improvement initiatives for the litigation management function.  Liberty Mutual is a diversified global insurer which ranks 71 on the Fortune 500.  Helen has a Bachelor of Science of Foreign Service from Georgetown University.

Patricia A. Henry

Patricia A. Henry is currently Executive Vice President for ACE Group Holdings responsible for government and industry affairs.   Ms. Henry manages the development and implementation of the public affairs agenda at the state, federal and international level. In this role she manages ACE’s Washington, D.C. office and is the company representative to various industry associations. Some representative issues Ms. Henry has worked on include asbestos litigation reform, the terrorism risk insurance act and the current debate regarding financial services regulatory reform issues.  Since 1992 Ms. Henry has held numerous management positions at ACE, including serving as Chief Legal Officer for Ace’s domestic operations.   Prior to joining ACE, Ms. Henry was an associate at the Philadelphia law firm of White & Williams where she represented ACE’s predecessor companies as national coverage counsel for environmental, asbestos and other toxic tort exposures.

Ms. Henry is a frequent lecturer on the federal legislative agenda as well as tort reform issues.  She serves as Chair of the American Insurance Association Law and Regulation Committee and on the Boards of the Rand Institute for Civil Justice, the Philadelphia Diversity Law Group and is a member of the Federation of Defense and Corporate Counsel.  Ms. Henry is a graduate of the College of William & Mary and Villanova University School of Law.  Ms. Henry was recently named to the Business Insurance 2009 Women to Watch and was recognized in the December 2009 issue.

LoriAnn is Responsible for the management of the distribution strategy, marketing, branding, p&l, and the regional management structure and operational oversight of Navigator’s 17 field offices in order to effectively matrix with the product line management structure that had been in place.

LoriAnn has over 20 years experience in the insurance industry, most recently as President of Lloyd’s North America.  During her tenure as President of Lloyd’s North America, LoriAnn restructured the North American operations to achieve greater productivity and created a shared services platform.  She was very active in promoting increased visibility for Lloyd’s in the United States, which accounts for 55% of Lloyd’s total business.  She has previously held positions as the Managing Director and National Practice Leader for Risk Management and Financial Products for Wells Fargo Insurance Services, as the Managing Director and Practice Leader for ERM, Alternative Risk Finance and Risk Solutions at Marsh and McLennan, and Global Director of Financial Products at Sedgwick, Inc.

LoriAnn is currently on the national board of Prevent Child Abuse America, and sits on the advisory board of St. John’s University.  She serves on the advisory board of Global Advance, Inc., which is one of her most intriguing activities (www.global advance.org), a nonprofit that deploys senior executives to equip and empower women leaders in their marketplace to advance their abilities and to reach their full potential. She serves on the advisory board of Graduate Studies at Robert Morris College, the TFG Educational Foundation which educates on talent pathing and diversity, overcoming personal constraints for maximum personal growth in education, charter schools and corporate sectors.  She is aMember of Global YPO (Young President's Organization).  In the past, she has served on the National Council of Ronald McDonald House, the Boards of Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital and St. Jude Children’s Hospital.

LoriAnn served on the 2008-2009 P&C CEO Roundtable.  She served on the 2009 APIW Woman of the Year selection committee.  LoriAnn was chosen as a 2010 Reactions Magazine “Rising Star” award recipient.  She is a 2008 Business Insurance Magazine "Woman to Watch"

LoriAnn’s community service activities are extensive.  Most notable are mission trips for Habitat for Humanity in Louisiana, Georgia and Kansas; and serving between 1996-2002 as an Advisor for Service over Self, an organization bringing together African-American with Anglo Americans to learn tolerance and value diversity. Over the past few years, LoriAnn had made trips to Lebanon, South Africa, Israel and Mexico on mission trips that have involved teaching ethical business practices to women entrepreneurs in those countries. She will be working with women in Jordan, Syria, Ghanna and Mumbai in 2010.

LoriAnn, a sixth generation Texan, moved back to Dallas from New York last year when she married her husband Keith.  She resides there with her husband and 3 step-children.

Deborah Masucci

Deborah Masucci is currently a full time mediator and arbitrator as well as Chair and Board Member of the International Mediation Institute (IMI) and was former Chair of the ABA Section for Dispute Resolution where she was a founding member of Women in Dispute Resolution.  
She is a global expert in alternative dispute resolution and dispute management with over thirty years’ experience in promoting the effective use of ADR in many capacities.
Deborah was recruited to American International Group (AIG) in 2003 to establish its Office of Dispute Resolution in the Litigation Management Division where she was responsible for the strategic use of alternative dispute resolution (ADR) and delivered ADR training.  In 2013 she led the rollout of the Company’s employee dispute resolution program.
Prior to joining AIG, Deborah was Vice President of the East Central Region and head of Professional Development for JAMS The Resolution Experts. She made her mark in ADR at FINRA, (previously NASD) where she led the dispute resolution program for 15 years.
She also is an adjunct professor of law at several law schools. She is Co Dean of the School of Claims Mediation for the Claims Litigation Management Alliance (2015/2016). She is a member of the faculty for the Chartered Institute of Arbitrator’s Diploma Course in Mediation Advocacy (Jan. 2016/17). She is a member of the American College of Civil Trial Mediator.
Deborah has been appointed as an arbitrator in over 150 matters covering employment, commercial, insurance coverage, breach of contract and professional fee disputes. She also serves as a mediator and has been appointed to matters involving employment, insurance coverage, and contract. She is on the American Arbitration Association’s Commercial and Employment panels, and the American Health Lawyers Association panels.

Julie Pemberton

Ms. Pemberton currently leads the Global Risk Management department.  Responsibilities include design, implementation & management of the organization's enterprise risk management process; Strategy setting and program design/placement of worldwide insurance coverage (including executive risks, property/cargo, marine/casualty, and cyber/technology); Oversight of related risk control activities; Contract review; Due diligence projects.

Ms. Pemberton's career began with a regional telecommunications company and subsequently served in a risk management services role with a global risk and insurance brokerage firm. She joined Chiquita Brands as its corporate risk analyst in November 2000.  In 2005, she began designing and later launched Chiquita's enterprise risk management process.  In 2007, she assumed leadership of the consolidated enterprise risk and insurance risk management department.  In 2011, Ms. Pemberton joined Coinstar/Redbox to build and lead it's ERM / Insurance / Safety organization.

Ms. Pemberton is a Graduate of Thomas More College in Northern Kentucky and holds Associate in Risk Management (ARM) designation from the Insurance Institute of America.

Robin Sangston

Robin Sangston is Vice President, Legal Affairs and Chief Compliance Officer for Cox Communications, Inc.  In her role she oversees all of the operations of the Legal Affairs Department.  Prior to joining Cox Communications, Robin was an associate with the law firm of Dow, Lohnes in the Washington, D.C. office.  There, she specialized in litigation involving media companies.

 Robin received her B.A., magna cum laude, from the University of Pennsylvania where she was a member of the Mortar Board Honor Society.  She received her J.D., with high honors, from George Washington University’s National Law Center.  She was selected to be a member of the George Washington Law Review and Order of the Coif.

 In 2004, Robin served as the national Chair of Women in Cable & Telecommunications, Inc. (“WICT”), a 10,000 plus member non-profit organization whose mission is to develop women leaders in the cable television industry.  In addition to her work with WICT, Robin has supported a number of other organizations and initiatives, including non-profit service on the board of the Minority Corporate Counsel Association, the Atlanta Chapter of Cable Positive, a non-profit organization dedicated to raising AIDS awareness and funding AIDS education, research and care, the Atlanta Ballet, the Atlanta Chapter of the Federal Bar Association, and the Atlanta Legal Diversity Consortium.  Robin also serves as Chair of Cox Communications’ Diversity Council, which represents the over 2000 employees at Cox’s Atlanta headquarters.

Jane Tutoki

In April 2018 after overseeing a successful acquisition of Cunningham Lindsey by Sedgwick, Jane was named the Vice Chair of Sedgwick. Jane joined Cunningham Lindsey in June 2014 as Global CEO from AIG Property and Casualty, where she served as Global Head of Claims Operations since 2012.

Previously, Jane worked as both Head of Americas Region and Executive Director of Global Insurance for Xchanging plc. Jane held several senior positions at Zurich Financial Services, including Global Chief Claims Officer and Chief Claims Officer, North America Commercial Division.

Jane began her time at Zurich in senior claims executive roles at its Farmers personal lines business, including as head of its auto claims division. She began her career as an attorney working for numerous insurance companies, later serving as in-house counsel at Hartford Financial Services.

Jane holds a Juris Doctor degree and is a Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter.

Paula R. Watson is presently Vice President and Senior Counsel for TD Bank, N.A. in South Portland, Maine and manages significant litigation for the Bank and its subsidiaries with a concentration in the New England region.  TD Bank, America's Most Convenient Bank, is one of the 15 largest commercial banks in the United States with $160 billion in assets, and provides customers with a full range of financial products and services at more than 1,100 locations from Maine to Florida.

Attorney Watson was a partner at the law firm of Thompson, Bull, Furey, Bass and  MacColl as a commercial litigator primarily for financial institutions for a decade.  She graduated cum laude from Vermont Law School and holds a Masters degree in Strategic Studies from the United States Army War College.  She served over twenty-three years in the United State's Army Judge Advocate General's Corps and retired as a decorated Colonel.  She is a Fellow in the Maine Bar Foundation and a member of the American Bar Association, New England Corporate Counsel Association, Inc., Maine Bar Association and Vermont Bar Association.
