Mark Chudleigh is the principal of Bermuda law firm, Kennedys Chudleigh Ltd., which is affiliated with the international law firm, Kennedys. Deirdre Johnson is a partner in the Washington, DC office of Crowell & Moring LLP. She has nearly two decades of experience handling disputes in the U.S., Bermuda, London and European markets in lawsuits and arbitration proceedings arising out of a broad range of claims and virtually all types of insurance and reinsurance agreements.Ms. Johnson has represented insurers and reinsurers in coverage disputes involving variable annuity, general liability, surety, product liability, employment discrimination and environmental matters. She has handled dozens of reinsurance arbitrations in both domestic and international proceedings, including many Bermuda and London arbitrations arising out of a broad range of claim types. She also represents insurers and reinsurers in insolvency proceedings and has counseled insurers providing Directors and Officers / Errors and Omissions / Fidelity coverage to the mutual fund industry.Ms. Johnson is on the Board of Directors of ARIAS-US and has been recognized in Chambers and the International Who’s Who in Reinsurance. Mr. Reardon is the Executive Vice President and Chief Counsel, Reinsurance for Validus Re, based in Hamilton, Bermuda. Validus was formed in 2005 in Bermuda to provide a full spectrum of short-tail reinsurance solutions - from catastrophe and property, to marine and specialty. Since then, it has grown to include offices in Bermuda, Switzerland, Singapore, New York and Miami and has become an established market leader in its selected lines of business.
Prior to joining Validus in 2006, Mr. Reardon was Assistant General Counsel for Mutual Risk Management, Ltd. and General Counsel of a spin-off company, International Advisory Services, Ltd. He began his insurance career with CIGNA P&C (now ACE USA) in Philadelphia in 1994. He is a graduate of Temple University School of Law and is admitted to the bar in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and the State of New Jersey.

Jon started his Reinsurance career in 1986 as an LMX retro. placing broker at CE Heath &Co. In 1987 he left the London Insurance market for a short time to work on the London International Financial Futures Exchange as a trading assistant for James Capel a UK stockbroker. In 1988 he returned to the London Insurance market joining Wellington Underwriting where he took on many roles during his time there working for Wellington Syndicates 1095 / 51 / 2020. These roles included Claims Adjuster and Assistant Claims Manager within Casualty Reinsurance and Property Reinsurance Claims Manager. Jon was one of the Thirty nine Wellington employees that left Wellington in June 2002 to set up Wellington Re which was later renamed Aspen. Jon’s role at Aspen started with Claims Manager Property Reinsurance AIUK, he progressed to Head of Claims for the Bermuda company, Aspen Bermuda Limited and then he progressed onto Group Head of Claims before assuming his current role Group Head of Reinsurance Claims. Jon has worked in the London/Bermuda Reinsurance Claims market for over twenty five years. He is a member of IACP.

Kevin joined Argo Re (Bermuda) as Claims Manager in November 2009, overseeing claims for its Casualty and Professional Lines business. He has since been promoted to Head of Claims, Emerging Markets, overseeing and having responsibility for ArgoRe (Bermuda), ArgoRe DIFC (Dubai), ArgoGlobal SE (Malta), and ArgoSeguros (Brazil). He began his insurance career as a Dedicated Group Service Manager with Oxford Health Plans where he acted as the primary contact for assigned brokers and risk managers addressing their coverage, accounting, and claims related concerns.
He went on to become a Broker for Marsh’s Global Broking unit in its New York office where he placed insurance related financial products for Fortune 1000 clients, assisting in reducing their potential for corporate and personal pecuniary loss. He underwrote insurance for some of those very same clients after becoming an Underwriter for Genesis, a professional lines underwriting unit of Gen Re. Kevin entered the Bermuda market as Claims Counsel for XL Insurance (Bermuda) Ltd, managing a claims book comprised of XL’s highest exposure casualty matters.
Kevin graduated from Cornell University School of Arts and Sciences majoring in Anthropology, Sociology and Latin American Studies. He received his law degree from Fordham University School of Law where he focused on corporate law. Kevin clerked for the Honorable Rosalyn H. Richter within the Supreme Court of New York, Civil Division, and is admitted to practice in both State and Federal Courts in New York.
