Jacquelyn Beatty, a CLM Co-Chair for Washington State, is a shareholder with the Seattle, Washington firm Karr Tuttle Campbell, where she chairs the Insurance and Appellate Practice groups. Beth Zaro Green is the Vice President of Claims Senior Counsel for Berkley Insurance Company and serves as Director of Claims Litigation Management for W.R. Berkley Corporation. . Beth is responsible for providing litigation oversight for high exposure complex claims, bad faith and coverage litigation across select Berkley companies which focus on Professional Liability. She also manages the WRBC enterprise-wide defense counsel panel.

She is a member of the AAA Roster of Neutrals for Commercial Arbitration.

Prior to joining W. R. Berkley Corporation, she was Senior Vice President and Managing Attorney of AIG's Litigation Management, Professional Errors & Omissions and Coverage Departments. There she established their centralized in-house law office, which managed the defense of global bad faith and other extra contractual litigation. She also managed the in-house coverage law office which litigated coverage matters in New York and New Jersey. Previously she was in private practice as a trial lawyer admitted in New York and New Jersey after completing a judicial clerkship in New Jersey.

Susan Kaufman

Susan Kaufman was previously employed at Travelers Insurance Company for over 20 years, most recently as a Director in the Claim Legal Department. In that role she was responsible for analyzing and addressing Bad Faith allegations against the company relative to Personal Lines business in Florida. Additionally, she was responsible for analyzing and resolving coverage issues. Ms. Kaufman also created numerous Continuing Education courses and provided invaluable training to the claims staff. This included many courses on Good Faith Claims Handling, Mediation Strategies, various coverage issues such as Uninsured Motorist coverage. Ms. Kaufman is a Florida Supreme Court appointed County Court Mediator. She is also a certified instructor for Continuing Education credits in the State of Florida, and she has obtained her certification as both a Commercial Lines Coverage Specialist and Personal Lines Coverage Specialist. Susan obtained her degree in Business from the University of Florida. She is a native of South Carolina, and a longtime resident of the South Florida area.

Clarence Martin

Clarence E. “CEM” Martin, III is a Shareholder at Martin & Seibert, L.C. and is the third generation of his family to be a member of the firm. His Grandfather, Clarence E. Martin, President of the American Bar Association in 1932-33, founded the firm in 1908.

Mr. Martin practices law in the areas of bad faith, insurance coverage, insurance defense litigation, electric utility litigation, railroad defense litigation (FELA), products liability, environmental, mass tort, class action and asbestos defense litigation in state and federal trial and appellate courts. He also lobbies on various issues, including insurance, litigation and civil justice reform.

Mr. Martin was an Assistant Counsel to the then Interstate and Foreign Commerce Committee (now Energy and Commerce Committee) of the U.S. House of Representatives and Trial Attorney for the U.S. Department of Justice. He was Member of the West Virginia House of Delegates from 1976-82 where, among others, he chaired the Insurance Committee. He is a permanent member of the Judicial Conference of the U S Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit and also served as President of the WV Bar Association.

Mr. Martin has taken leadership roles in a number of professional and business organizations in West Virginia and beyond. He has served as Chair of the West Virginia Bar Association and the West Virginia State Chamber of Commerce. He is a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates and served served on its National Board of Directors.  Mr. Martin has been selected as a Super Lawyer, named to Best Lawyers in America and selected by Corporate Lawyers as one of the Top Lawyers in the US. He is a Fellow of the Litigation Counsel of America and a Fellow of the West Virginia Bar Foundation. He received an Honorary Doctorate from Shepherd University and has written and lectured extensively on litigation and insurance issues.  Mr. Martin is a proud Member of the Claims and Litigation Management Alliance.

As such, Charlie has overall responsibility for defining and delivering Liberty’s Commercial Market claim services countrywide for auto and general liability customers. Previously, Charlie was the Vice President & Manager of Middle Market Liability Claims and Assistant Vice President and Manager, Liability Claims, in the Liberty Mutual Group’s Examining Unit in Dover, NH. There he was responsible for oversight, management and evaluation of Liberty Mutual’s highest exposure liability claims for commercial market business. Prior to these positions, Mr. O’Connor served in various legal and claims management positions including trial counsel & attorney of record in an active Long Island, New York practice. Charlie was also instrumental in the development of litigation management efforts for the Liberty Mutual Group. Mr. O’Connor obtained his J.D. from St. John’s University School of Law in New York. Bill is the head of the Litigation Practice Group in the Corporate Law department of Zurich North America. Bill and his team manage "bad faith" cases as well as non-claim litigation including collection litigation on loss-sensitive policies where insureds attempt to place the adequacy or good faith of claims handling at issue. The group also handles subpoena responses, provides advice on pre-litigation disputes, and provides support to the Claims organization on corporate and underwriting issues arising in coverage litigation. Bill began his legal career as a litigation associate with Cahill Gordon & Reindel in New York and then with Dickstein Shapiro & Morin in Washington, D.C. He joined Zurich in 1994. Bill is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and received his J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law.

David Zehner

Dave Zehner is a founding partner of Zehner Trial Consulting. Zehner Trial Consulting is a provider of superior mock trials, focus groups and jury selection services. Zehner Trial Consulting uses the latest research in cognitive theory to design research exercises to test the essential elements of cases and determine what will shape the verdict of the jury. During his career, Dave has consulted on more than 800 cases in 42 states and over 180 venues in all areas of the law, specializing in professional negligence, employment, intellectual property, white collar criminal, capital crimes and complex commercial cases. Dave has also assisted clients in selecting over 120 juries in venues throughout the country. Before becoming a trial consultant, Dave taught high school history for five years and coached the freshman and JV basketball teams. Dave also coached the Academic Decathlon team to three San Diego County championships and one fourth place finish in the state of California. Dave also appeared on Jeopardy!, and his crushing defeat was made even more enjoyable by being called "evil" by Alex Trebek for working as a jury consultant. 

A graduate of the University of California at Berkeley with a degree in History and International Political Economies, Dave was a University Fellowship recipient while earning his master's degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago and ABD status for his PhD in the Public Policy Analysis Program.
