John David Gray

Biography

John David graduated from the University of Alabama College of Engineering with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Aerospace Engineering and Mechanics before continuing on to the University of Alabama School of Law. He was a member of Alabama’s nationally competitive Trial Advocacy Team, and also participated in the Civil Law Clinic program sponsored by the law school. The Civil Law Clinic provides students of the University of Alabama as well as local, low income residents with free legal counsel in civil matters. Upon entering the practice of law, he joined his father at Gray & Associates, L.L.C.

John David is licensed to practice law in all state and federal courts of Alabama.  Since February 2020, John David has been employed as Claims Coverage Counsel with Kemper Insurance. Prior to joining Kemper, his practice was focused solely on civil litigation and the appeals that follow, primarily defending insurance companies and their interests in complex litigation. He has experience litigating a variety of issues arising equally from first and third party defense. Matters included defense of various personal lines, property and casualty lines including homeowners, fire, and life policies; as well as representing numerous and varied small businesses throughout Alabama in the context of employer practices liability, commercial general liability, directors and officers exposure, and errors and omissions coverage.
