Michele Wojcik

Biography

Michele Wojcik has over twenty years of experience advising insurance carriers regarding their coverage obligations, and litigating insurance carriers’ duty to defend and indemnify.  Michele Wojcik is proficient in all lines of insurance coverage including personal lines, commercial lines, professional lines and specialty lines.  In addition, Michele Wojcik defends insurance carriers against extracontractual claims.  She is often retained by the insurance carrier pre-suit in order to assist the carrier in moving forward with the claim while protecting the carrier against potential extracontractual claims.  Michele prides herself on her ability to assist insurance carriers in trouble shooting sticky situations and coming up with creative solutions.  Michele joined the firm in 1998 and soon thereafter became known as the go to person for insurance coverage and extracontractual claims.  In addition, Michele defends attorneys and other professionals against claims of professional liability and handles general defense matters including complex claims. Michele has argued before the Appellate Court and Supreme Court of Connecticut.
Michele frequently presents seminars and learning work-shops to her clients on issues of insurance coverage and avoiding extracontractual claims.  In addition, Michele has been a presenter for to the ABA TIPS Annual Insurance Coverage Litigation Committee Midyear Program, CLM Insurance Coverage Committee Conference, and NBI.
Recently, Michele was inducted as a new member into the FDCC (Federal of Defense and Corporate Counsel). She is currently a co-chairperson of CLM’s Insurance Coverage Committee, and a member of the CBA. Michele is a past chairman of the Newington Town Plan and Zoning Commission and a volunteer for Nutmeg Big Brothers Big Sisters. In her free time, Michele enjoys sailing with her husband, cooking, and spending time with her yellow lab.
