Biography

James C. Wright is AV rated.  He also holds the CLMP designation.
He is listed in U.S. News as a Best Lawyer in America.  He has been selected as one of America's Top High Stakes Litigators.  He  is a Midsouth Super Lawyer both generally and in the Business Edition.  He has been selected as one of the top 1% of lawyers in America by the National Assoication of Distinguished Counsel.  He has been selected as one of the top ten lawyers in Tennessee in client satisfaction.Mr. Wright  has practiced with Butler Vines and Babb, a Tennessee law firm for over 37 years. The firm is recognized by both U.S. News as a Best Law Firm in America and Fortune Magazine as a top law firm.  His father was a trial lawyer and Mr. Wright maintains an additional Middle Tennessee office in his father's old law office building.  He also has a daughter who practices in Memphis.  Mr. Wright has served as a Lead State Chair for CLM.  He was a founding member and has chaired the Environmental Law Section of the Tennessee Bar Association as well as the Knoxville Bar Association.He has also chaired the Tort and Insurance Practice Section of the Tennessee Bar Association.He has acted as a National, Regional and Local coordinating counsel and has tried cases in multiple jurisdictions.He is licensed before the United States Supreme Court, the Federal Court of Claims,  the Sixth and Fourth Circuit Courts of Appeals and all Courts of Record in Tennessee..In addition to his litigation and business practice, he has done rapid response to commercial vehicle accidents across the Southeast United States for over 30 years.
