Biography

Michael Petrie has been involved in insurance investiagtions for over 22 years and been a featured speaker of “Finding your claimant’s online footprints” at numerous venues including the Southern California Defense Association, New York Self Insureds’ Association, National Insurance Crime Bureau NICB New York, New Jersey PERMA and various claims organizations across the country.  Presentations focused on anonymity mistakes, online thumbprints and hard to detect data that can be used to help mitigate claims.  Michael has created some of the first successful manual search brands over the last 10 years with evolving investigative methodologies based on the ever changing data sources.  He's also had the pleasure educating numerous agencies including: Insurance carriers while providing CEU credits, insurance brokers, employers, law enforcement groups and  various defense firms. Michael has held a PA-WCCC (Workers’ Compensation Claims Certified) designation since 2000. 

In business just 24 months, the social media investigation pioneers have already received two nominations for the “Most Innovative Vendor of the Year Award” by the National Restaurant & Retail Defense Association in 2015 and 2016. Social Detection recently presented at the NRRDA Conference in March 2017 in San Diego, CA., the Thought Leader Theatre at RIMS Internation Conference - April 2017 held in Philadelphia and this years Summit Conference in Las Vegas, NV.  Social Detection has been disrupting the investigative industry since their launch in 2015 and in 2016 had saved clients over $19 million quantifiable dollars. Recently they were featured in C|Net, CBSNews, Chicago Tribune, Philadelphia Inquirer and 1300 additional news and media outlets around the globe. Social Detection’s Concierge Report Service continues to find inventive ways to outmaneuver possible insurance fraudsters.
