Biography

Gary F. Baumann is a founding partner of Baumann, Gant & Keeley, P.A., a Florida statewide defense firm with offices in Fort Lauderdale, Tampa and Jacksonville. He earned his Juris Doctorate degree from Nova Southeastern University in 1996, receiving the Book Award in the Trial Advocacy Program. He was admitted to the Florida Bar in 1996 and is a member in good standing. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from West Virginia University in 1990. He was born in Erie, Pennsylvania.

Mr. Baumann’s primary areas of practice involve catastrophic injury, wrongful death, automobile negligence, construction defect litigation, construction bodily injury claims, products liability, bad faith litigation and general negligence claims. He has successfully tried to verdict and litigated numerous complex claims including class action lawsuits.

He was appointed on August 7, 2009 by the Honorable Eldon Fallon to serve as a member of the National Defense Steering Committee (DSC) for the thousands of Chinese Drywall claims being litigated in the Eastern District of Louisiana (MDL 2047).

He has been a panel member, chairperson and moderator at numerous national seminars including The Defense Research Institute (DRI), West Coast Casualty Seminar, The East Coast Region Construction Defect Seminar, The Claims and Litigation Management Alliance Annual Conference, and the CDCMA. The events have been attended by Federal Court Judges and State Court Judges from Florida, California, South Carolina, Oregon, Arizona and Nevada as well as attorneys from across the country. He regularly presents accredited seminars to clients on topics such as current events in Florida Construction Defect Law and Claims Adjuster Ethics.

He is admitted to practice law in all Florida State Courts since 1996 and has been admitted to practice before the U.S. Federal Court for the Southern and Middle District of Florida.
