Biography

Scott's practice is devoted to civil litigation.  He is licensed to practice in Alabama, Florida, and Mississippi, and regularly handles matters along the Central Gulf Coast.  He represents business clients and professionals in a broad range of practice areas, including defense of personal injury and wrongful death claims, defense of corporate directors and officers, banking litigation, labor & employment, and defense of retail and premises claims.

Scott has been named a Rising Star for the State of Alabama by the 2011 - 2015 editions of Alabama Super Lawyers® magazine.  Scott is also a graduate of the 2011 IADC Trial Academy, held at Stanford Law School. Scott is also a graduate of the 2012 CLM Litigation Management Institute, held at Columbia Law School in New York, where he received the Certified Litigation Management Professional designation.During his practice, Scott regularly gives presentations on topics ranging from the defense of general liability restaurant and retailer claims in Alabama, Mississippi, and Florida, to employment law issues faced by business clients. He has also authored articles for the Alabama Defense Lawyers Association (ADLA) Journal and for the Journal of the Legal Profession.

Scott has served as a member of the Young Lawyers Executive Committee for the Mobile Bar Association, as well as on the Professional Relations and Entertainment Committees. He regularly handles assigned cases for indigent clients through the South Alabama Volunteer Lawyers Program. Scott also serves on the Board of Directors for multiple non-profit groups, including the Epilepsy Foundation of Alabama and Eye Heart World, Inc.
