Biography
Bill Pollock is a partner at Ragsdale Liggett in Raleigh, NC. His practice of 30 years concentrates on construction, products liability, environmental, transportation and other complex litigation. Bill’s clients include general contractors, subcontractors, product manufacturers, trucking companies, insurance and surety companies. Bill has tried over 50 cases in jury trials, bench trials and arbitrations, with significant defense verdicts including a complete defense verdict in a 6 week water quality trial where the plaintiffs sought over $75 million, a defense verdict on statue of repose affirmed by the NC Supreme Court and summary judgment verdicts on products liability cases affirmed by the 4th Circuit Court of Appeals.
Mr. Pollock is a member of Trial Attorneys of America, an organization whose membership is limited to only 200 product liability lawyers in the country. He is a past director of the North Carolina Association of Defense Attorneys and was accepted by invitation of the National Association of Home Builders to represent the state on the NAHB’s Construction Law Attorney Forum. He is on the Steering Committee, Construction Law for the Defense Research Institute and is a member of the Litigation and Construction Law Sections of the North Carolina Bar Association. Bill serves on the Board of Directors for the NC Legal Education Assistance Foundation. Mr. Pollock speaks regularly to audiences concerning construction and insurance law topics and has conducted dozens of presentations and seminars, while authoring several articles for these audiences.
Bill's many professional accomplishments have been recognized by Best Lawyers in America where he was named "Insurance Lawyer of the Year." In addition to his many listings in the North Carolina Super Lawyers magazine editions, he was named to its "Top 100 Lawyers" list and to the Legal Elite by Business North Carolina Magazine. He holds a Martindale-Hubbell AV Rating.
