Biography

Eric S. Strober is a Partner in the firm's Litigation & Appeals and Health Services Practice Groups, handling complex toxic tort, medical malpractice and general liability cases. He has tried cases to verdict in both state and federal courts. He litigates cases involving mold and lead paint exposure, products liability, mass torts (latex gloves, asbestos, pharmaceutical litigation), chemical exposure, asbestos-related claims, as well as general liability cases. Mr. Strober is often retained as monitoring or defense counsel in catastrophic injury cases throughout New York State. He also represents municipalities in various suits ranging from alleged roadway defects to alleged negligence by social services and the administration of foster care.

Mr. Strober represents landowners, management companies and various contractors in the defense of alleged mold exposure and construction accident cases including explosions, fires and scalding and has been involved in the coordination of lead paint defense on the national level. He has also represented celebrity clients in various civil matters.

Mr. Strober's experience in the defense of physicians and hospitals has included cases of anesthesia, cardiology, emergency room medicine, infectious diseases, internal medicine, obstetrics and gynecology, oncology, pediatrics, plastic and reconstructive surgery, among others. He also represents Ivy League universities in general liability matters, including landowner liability, medical school matters, and other lawsuits arising out of the operation of schools of higher learning. Mr. Strober has also represented national retailers in lawsuits stemming from the operation of retail stores including allegations of defective products, dangerous conditions and civil rights violations.

In 1997, Mr. Strober assisted attorney Paul Callan in the representation of the Estate of Nicole Brown Simpson in the civil case against O.J. Simpson.
