Biography

Adam Potter was the CEO of Business Insurance and the Founder of the CLM.  Adam has over 20 years experience in risk and litigation management, retail brokerage, consulting and advisory services in the insurance industry.

Adam served in senior risk management roles at Warner Music Group, Continental Airlines and Centerplate, and in an international planning role at American Airlines.  In his risk management roles, he achieved overwhelming success in reducing the overall cost of risk.  In these positions he was responsible for all aspects of the risk management process including pre-loss, post-loss and risk financing. He successfully reduced workers’ compensation costs and employee injuries and instituted programs that significantly reduced liability claims.  Additionally, he instituted litigation management guidelines, managed outsourced medical clinics, implemented safety and security programs, and was responsible for drug and alcohol testing compliance to the FAA/DOT.  While at American, he coordinated the on-site response for the 9/11/01 and 11/12/01 accidents, including direct communications with families, NTSB, FAA, FBI, Red Cross and local law enforcement.

Adam’s responsibilities have also included oversight of health, welfare, retirement and compensation plans. He has evaluated plan provisions in accordance with tax regulations, assessed trustee statements and worked with clients to re-engineer ongoing processes. Prior to his corporate risk management experience, Adam worked with two global retail brokerage firms where he served in an account management role for a variety of large international and regional clients.  His responsibilities included insurance placement, contract review, certificate verification and financial analysis of losses and alternative risk finance plans.

Adam was awarded a Master of Business Administration from Loyola University in Chicago and a B.S. in Business Administration from the University of Florida. He also received two international certifications: a Management Education Certificate from Syracuse University’s London School and an International Business Degree from DIS, University of Copenhagen, Denmark.
