Biography

Bob is a New York admitted attorney who has been in private practice, held an executive position and was a member of the Board of a major subsidiary of Berkshire Hathaway companies and has acted as CEO of a crisis response and litigation management company (ICALM Group).  He has been admitted pro hac vice in numerous federal district courts throughout the United States, supervising multi-district litigation as lead counsel and actively participating in the defense, prosecution and administration of “bet the company” issues arising out of forty-six note-worthy crises/catastrophes that have occurred around the world in the last forty-five years.  While managing litigation for numerous airlines (American, Delta, United, Pan Am, et. al.), several manufacturers, a railroad, a hotel, a super market chain, major national and international insurers, several environmental entities and the federal government, he has participated in, or supervised, the resolution of over 4,000 death and serious personal injury claims, including 400 jury trials.
He has been retained and testified in state and federal courts as an expert witness and prepared crisis/catastrophe response programs for several Fortune 500 companies, including American Airlines, for whom he managed the response to four major aircraft accidents, and supervised litigation worldwide from 1993 – 2000.  He also represented several families who lost loved ones on September 11, 2001 in the World Trade Center tragedy.

Bob has dramatically improved the approach taken by corporations to address difficult issues, counseled companies on how to prevent an unexpected event from becoming a crisis/catastrophe and advanced the effective and efficient administration of litigation arising from these events, while actively working with law firms and trial attorneys throughout the U.S.
