Sue Nemchik

Biography

Sue has 25 years of experience in risk management and has almost 40 years of experience in the hospital industry. Since 2001, she has served as Director of Risk Management for Southern Regional Medical Center in Riverdale, Georgia. Prior to becoming Director, she served as the Clinical Patient Representative for Southern Regional beginning in 1987. She has worked with self-insured programs and in-house management of claims since 1984.

Sue received her Bachelor of Science in 1993 from the College of St. Francis. She received her diploma to work as a registered nurse in 1973 through a program affiliated with Northwestern University in Chicago.

Sue has been a Certified Professional in Healthcare Risk Management (CPHRM) since 2001 and has been a Certified Patient Safety Officer (CPSO) since 2009.

Sue has also served as Chairman of Southern Regional’s Patient Safety Committee since 2001. She has coordinated its Self-Insurance Oversight Committee and its quarterly review of claims since 2004.
