Biography
Bob Horner, Claim Director of the Transportation Division, has been with Markel for seventeen years in various leadership roles. Bob has over 36 years in the insurance claim industry, which has included corporate & leadership positions with national, super-regional and regional property & casualty companies. Bob’s prior experience & expertise included a focus in General & Automobile Liability, Property, pleasure craft Marine, and Workers Compensation product lines.
After graduating from THE University of South Dakota in 1980, Bob sought a position in insurance claims and began his career in Omaha, Nebraska. Four companies and nine locations later, Bob joined Markel in the Pewaukee, Wisconsin location.
Bob is blessed with two children; Ashley who is a university curriculum counselor in Madison, WI, and Alex who is a CPA with EY in Minneapolis, MN. He shares his life with Audrey Hanken.
