Kelly Armstrong

Biography

Kelly joined Canal Insurance Company at its company headquarters in Greenville, SC as its Senior Staff Attorney in July 2011. Kelly’s duties include management of the company’s Compliance Department. Kelly provides oversight and management of the rate/rule and form filings for the company; market conduct; managing Canal’s compliance with regulation and legislation, and interacting with industry trades and other stakeholders.

Before joining Canal, Kelly served as Senior Staff Attorney at SafeAuto Insurance Company in Columbus, Ohio. Prior to SafeAuto, Kelly worked as a Trial Attorney for the Cincinnati, Ohio law firms of Freund, Freeze & Arnold, where she focused on insurance defense litigation and insurance regulatory work product, and Cors & Bassett where she focused on commercial litigation. Kelly is admitted to several state and federal bars and is active in the Association of Insurance Compliance Professionals, and the Insurance Regulatory Examiners Society (IRES). Kelly has received her Market Conduct Management (MCM) designation from IRES and is actively working towards her Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) designation.
