Karen Libertiny Ludden is a Senior Technical Claims Director and manager of the complex loss team of the Alternative Markets Division of Great American Insurance.
For 30 years, Karen represented insurance carriers, businesses, non-profits, banks and municipalities in cases involving insurance coverage and liability defense. She is known for her negotiating skills and her practical and efficient method of handling complex insurance coverage and defense matters for insurance carriers, commercial insureds and private clients. She has now taken an in-house position at Great American Insurance managing coverage and large loss for her division on cases throughout the United States.
Karen specializes in negotiating global resolutions in complex cases involving product liability, general contractor liability, subcontractor liability, trucking accidents, personal auto accidents, dram shop, class actions, premises liability, arson, property damage, contract disputes and municipal defense. As a lawyer, she maintained a multi-state Federal practice and argued and briefed in various Federal and State appellate and supreme courts. As a claims director, she manages coverage issues and large loss litigation througout the United States.
She also sits as a commercial mediator in cases involving the intersection of insurance coverage and liability claims.
Karen is a regular lecturer on insurance coverage including endorsement, exclusions, reservation of rights, denials, additional insured, indemnitees and no-fault law, as well as on trucking liability and no-fault issues.
