Lawrence Smith

Biography

Larry Smith is a founding partner of SmithAmundsen, an Executive Committee member emeritus (1997-2007), and Co-chair of the firm's Labor & Employment Practice Group. Larry is experienced at alternative dispute resolution including mediation and arbitration, case monitoring, case evaluation, and trial litigation, having tried over 120 jury cases throughout his career.  His experience covers many areas including product liability, transportation, aviation, employment, and commercial law.  He is also an authority on the defense of traumatic brain injury claims.  His practice focuses on risk management consulting, case monitoring, mediation, and implementing successful trial strategies. Larry was named to the Illinois Super Lawyers* list for 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, and 2010, a peer review designation published by Law & Politics magazine. He will also be included in the Super Lawyers* list, Corporate Counsel Edition, for 2010. Larry received an AV rating from Martindale-Hubbell for his legal ability and ethics and was named a Leading Lawyer in transportation defense law (aviation, FELA, and maritime), alternative dispute resolution (employment and personal injury), and products liability defense law by the Law Bulletin Publishing Company.
