Biography

Ms. Castagna has over 30 years of experience defending businesses and individuals in lawsuits throughout the state of Texas.  She focuses her practice in the areas of insurance defense, trucking and transportation defense, dram shop and liquor liability litigation, products liability, premises liability, construction defects, professional malpractice, and other general civil insurance defense litigation.  She has defended clients and insureds in situations ranging from minor accidents to those involving catastrophic damages, including death cases, quadriplegic cases, and brain-injury cases.
She was admitted to the State Bar of Texas in 1987. She is admitted to practice before all four U.S. District Courts in the State of Texas (Northern, Southern, Eastern, and Western).  She is a member of the American College of Transportation Attorneys, Transportation Lawyers Association, Trucking Industry Defense Association, Defense Research Institute, and Claims and Litigation Management Alliance.  She is a member and former chair of the Inclusion Committee of the Trucking Industry Defense Association.
She received her J.D. from St. Mary’s University in 1987.  She obtained dual degrees of Bachelor of Business Administration and Bachelor of Arts in psychology from Southern Methodist University in 1984.
She has authored and presented papers on “Preservation of Error and Texas Liquor Liability”, for the State Bar of Texas; “Preparation of a Commercial Truck Driver for Deposition”, for the State Bar of Texas; “Pedestrian, Bicycle, and Motorcycle Accidents”, for the American College of Transportation Attorneys; “Understanding Cellular and GPS Trucking Evidence”, for the Arkansas Trucking Seminar; and “Retention and Production of Driver’s Cellular Records”, for the American College of Transportation Attorneys.
