Tammy became a Partner with the Florida insurance defense litigation law firm, Martinez Denbo, LLC in 2014. Tammy is a former prosecutor and has handled insurance defense since 2002, with an emphasis on fraudulent claims. She was named the 2014 Insurance Attorney of the Year at the FIFEC fraud conference. Tammy is Secretary for the Board of Directors for CLM's West FL Chapter. She is an AV Preeminent Rated attorney through Martindale Hubbell Peer Review ratings. Tammy is a Certified Fraud Examiner and handles insurance related investigations and litigation in State and Federal Courts throughout Florida, from the firm's Tampa office. Tammy has vast experience in SIU, BI, UM, PIP, Property, Theft, Construction, Commercial and General Liability claims and litigation. In 2014, Tammy obtained a $3.3 million verdict for an insuer through affirmative litigation she filed alleging fraud. Another insurer retained Tammy to handle nearly a hundred Chinese Drywall insurance claims in federal court Multi-District Litigation in the Eastern District of Louisiana. Tammy is admitted to practice in all Florida State and Federal Courts, the District of Columbia, the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals and the U.S. Supreme Court. Tammy is a member of the International Association of Special Investigation Units (IASIU), the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE), Claims and Litigation Management Alliance (CLM), American Bar Association (ABA), and the Hillsborough County Bar Association (HCBA). Tammy attended the University of Florida and received her undergraduate degree from the University of South Florida in 1996. Tammy was awarded her Juris Doctor degree, Cum Laude, from Stetson University College of Law in 1998. While at Stetson, Tammy was a competing member of the Moot Court Board and received awards for Best Appellate Brief and Best Oral Argument.From 1999-2002, Tammy served as an Assistant State Attorney in Pinellas County. Tammy successfully prosecuted numerous cases, including fraud, through jury and non-jury trials. She handled felony and misdemeanor cases and was a Lead Trial Attorney. She worked closely with law enforcement while serving on the DUI Manslaughter Squad, and assisted with on-scene investigations. In 2001 and 2002, Tammy was awarded the RID-Tampa Law Enforcement Community Service Award. She served as an Adjunct Instructor for Police and Corrections Academies in Pinellas County. In 2002, Tammy transitioned into the civil litigation arena and began handling insurance defense investigations and litigation, with an emphasis on fraudulent and abusive claims.Tammy served as Secretary of the Florida Bar's Small Claims Rules Committee for multiple terms. Tammy is a competition judge for Stetson's Trial Advocacy programs. Tammy prides herself on being active in the Tampa Bay area community, and abroad. Tammy has completed 15 medical mission trips - 14 to Haiti and 1 to Panama. Tammy is the President of Administration of the non-profit organization, People for Haiti. In 2014, Tammy became Nationally Certified and licensed in Florida as an EMT to assist with her medical mission work, as well as injury-related cases. Tammy is now enrolled in Paramedic school. Tammy is the former Chair of the Advisory Board for the Suncoast Region of Make-A-Wish of Central and Northern Florida and was a Wish Granter for several children with life threatening medical conditions. Through the Junior League of Tampa, Tammy actively participated in Children's Literacy and Food 4 Kids programs. Tammy continually devotes volunteer time to Tampa's Hope Children's Home, in conjunction with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the NFL Alumni Association. Tammy served on the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office Advisory Board. In 2008, Tammy was selected to participate in the FBI's Citizens Academy and upon her graduation; in 2009 she was elected to the Board of Directors for the FBI Tampa Bay Citizens Academy Alumni Association and is the Immediate Past President. In 2011, Tammy was elected to the FBI National Citizens Academy Alumni Association Board of Directors and is now National's Vice President of Chapter Relations. In 2012, Tammy was a runner-up for Westchase Charitable Foundation's Tampa Bay Woman of the Year. In 2012, the Special Agent in Charge of the FBI's Tampa Division selected Tammy to be awarded the prestigous honor of the FBI Director's Community Leadership Award and the Director of the FBI personally presented this award to Tammy at FBI HQ in April of 2013. In 2014, Tammy was a Finalist for WEDU's Be More Involved community service award. In 2014, she was awarded FIFEC's Insurance Attorney of the Year.
