Biography

Karrieann Couture, Esq., is Assistant Vice President of Management Liability and Financial Institutions at CNA Insurance Companies.  Prior to this role, Ms. Couture served as Assistant Vice President for Professional Services at CNA, which included Lawyers, Accountants and Miscellaneous Professional Liability.  Ms. Couture began her career at CNA in 2002 as a claims consultant and was a Senior Director before becoming AVP.  Ms. Couture has developed internal training programs, assisted with risk management and lectured on lawyers malpractice, negotiations, insurance coverage and other relevant legal and claim-related topics.  Prior to CNA, Ms. Couture managed general liability claims at Chubb Insurance and lawyers malpractice claims at ISBA Mutual, where she was also involved in risk management programs.  Ms. Couture practiced insurance defense and coverage litigation in Chicago before making the move to insurance companies.  Her undergraduate degree is from the University of Iowa.  She earned her law degree, with honors, from Drake University, where she was Executive Editor of the Drake Law Review, Editor of Drake Legal Research and an intern with the Department of Justice.
