Biography
Brandon Jones, a Partner at The McKay Firm, focuses his practice on trucking and commercial transportation litigation, premises liability, construction defect litigation, automobile liability, and government and Section 1983 defense. He regularly defends small and large entities, individuals, and insurance carriers in actions across South Carolina. He also routinely handles contractual and business matters for both companies and individuals. He has successfully tried numerous cases to verdict in both state and federal courts in South Carolina. He holds a Certified Claims Professional designation from the CLM and has been selected as Legal Elite of the Midlands in the area of insurance law. He is licensed to practice in South Carolina, the United States District Court for the District of South Carolina, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit.
Brandon is actively involved in numerous defense organizations, including the CLM, Defense Research Institute, American Bar Association, and South Carolina Defense Trial Attorneys' Association. He is a past Vice Chair of the DRI Trucking Law Committee's Young Lawyers Special Litigation Group. He also is an active member of the ABA TIPS Commercial Transportation Litigation Committee and previously served as the Vice Chair of the ABA Government Law Committee. He serves as the Secretary of the South Carolina Chapter of the CLM and is a member of the CLM Transportation Law Committee.
A native of Greenville, South Carolina, Brandon graduated from Clemson University and the University of South Carolina School of Law. He is an active volunteer with Special Olympics of South Carolina and is involved with the Columbia Clemson Club. An avid traveler and sports enthusiast, you will find Brandon and his family at Clemson football games on most fall Saturdays. Brandon resides in Columbia, South Carolina with his wife, son, and elderly dog.
