Colleen Perkins

Biography

Colleen Perkins is the National Director of Special Investigations at GAINSCO Auto Insurance.  Colleen has nearly two decades of insurance experience in SIU, Claims, and Litigation. She, currently, manages team leaders and investigators in nine states. She is a member of the Claims Leadership Team and handles multiple projects, including the development of fraud training for claims and SIU. Prior to joining GAINSCO, she held various positions in New York and Florida, at large, mutual company.  She developed extensive medical fraud training, as well as a suite of  medical training modules for claims adjusters and SIU personnel.Prior to pursuing a career in insurance, Colleen spent 15 years in the medical profession as a Registered Nurse.  The majority of the time was spent in an Emergency Department in Syracuse, New York, where she was the Assistant Nurse Manager, having achieved National Certification in Emergency and Trauma Nursing. She also worked for a Public School District, writing policies and procedures for the district, including all state mandated polices for reporting child abuse and neglect, immunization requirements, and disaster preparedness procedures.Besides her degree as a Registered Nurse, Colleen holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from the State University of New York.
