Cynthia Heaney

Biography

Cynthia Heaney is a Senior Claims Specialist at AXIS Insurance Company in Berkeley Heights, NJ. She handles employment practices claims, both primary and high excess, and surety claims, in all phases of litigation management. Prior to joining AXIS in 2005, she spent 6 years in private practice in New York and New Jersey, specializing in employment discrimination defense, insurance coverage litigation and product liability defense. She also had a clerkship with a presiding judge in the Superior Court of New Jersey, Appellate Division. Cynthia received her J.D. from Fordham University School of Law, where she was ADR & the Law Editor of the Fordham International Law Journal. She received her M.A. in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages from New York University, and her B.A. in English Literature from Boston College. She is a CLM Fellow and a member of PLUS. She lives in New Jersey with her husband and 2 daughters.
