Micaela currently serves as Assistant Vice President for State Government Relations at the Property Casualty Insurers Association of America (PCI) and oversees legislative and regulatory affairs in NJ, PA, VA and DC.  Micaela joined PCI in 2009 and initially managed the Southeast territory which included GA, NC, SC and TN.

Micaela began her political career in 1995 at the Republican Party of Texas and after three years, was hired by the Texas Association of Business & Chambers of Commerce (TABCC) as Political Action & Education Manager.  While at TABCC, Micaela was responsible for resurrecting their dormant state PAC and expanding issue advocacy fundraising, ultimately tripling the combined receipts.  Additional responsibilities included developing grassroots initiatives and get-out-the-vote campaigns for more than 140,000 employers across the state of Texas.

In 1999 Micaela relocated to Washington, DC with HSBC-North America, where she remained for ten years.  Initially hired as Political Affairs Director for federal and state government relations, her primary responsibilities included managing nearly 5,000 PAC members, PAC receipts of more than $2.3 million a cycle, all state and federal compliance and get-out-the-vote/grassroots initiatives.  Just prior to joining PCI, Micaela served as Vice President, State Government Relations at HSBC and managed banking and financial services issues in AL, FL, GA, LA and MS.

On Election Day in 2002, Micaela was featured in a front page Wall Street Journal story about effective political programs within the business community.  Over the years, Micaela has been interviewed for similar stories by Crane Magazine, Influence Magazine and HR Magazine, to name a few.

Micaela was appointed to serve as PAC Council Chairman for the Business and Industry Political Action Committee (BIPAC) from 1999-2009 and currently serves on the BIPAC Board of Directors.  She has been a speaker at numerous conferences for the Public Affairs Council and BIPAC, a guest lecturer at the University of Texas at Austin and George Washington University and has addressed Corporate PAC Boards and trade association executives about the importance of employee engagement in the political process.

Micaela is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Speech Communication and currently resides in Washington, D.C.
