Biography

CURRENT RESPONSIBILITIESMegan McClellan is a broker for Marsh's FINPRO practice in Washington, D.C., and currently is the FINPRO National Retail Practice Leader.  As a broker, she advises clients on the evaluation and design of risk transfer solutions that address financial and professional exposures, including directors and officers liability, errors and omissions, cyber security and privacy liability, employment practices liability, fidelity (crime) and fiduciary liability.  Megan is responsible to her clients for all aspects of analysis and placement of FINPRO related coverages, including strategic planning, risk analysis, coverage analysis and program design, and, to ensure superior results, partners with a FINPRO placement specialist in the marketing to and placement of capacity with insurers.  Megan’s clients include publicly traded, as well as private, U.S. and multinational clients in various industries.EXPERIENCEMegan has been a broker in the Marsh FINPRO practice since March 2012.  Prior to joining Marsh, Megan practiced law for nearly four years as an associate with the law firm Troutman Sanders LLP in Washington, DC.  In that capacity, Megan represented insurance carriers in coverage matters involving directors and officers liability and other forms of professional liability insurance.  On behalf of her clients, Megan: analyzed coverage, liability and exposure in connection with securities class actions, derivative actions and other corporate governance matters, ERISA stock drop suits, regulatory investigations and commercial contractual disputes; resolved coverage disputes; and contributed to the resolution of underlying claims.  Megan also represented insurers in coverage litigation.

Prior to attending law school, Megan worked for Marsh as a Risk Analyst in Washington, DC for nearly three years.  In that capacity, Megan was responsible for facilitating and assisting with the renewal process of property and casualty lines of coverage for middle market clients.EDUCATION & AFFILIATIONSMegan graduated with a JD from The George Washington University Law School and is a member of the Bar in Virginia and the District of Columbia.  She earned a BBA from James Madison University.

Megan co-chairs the Ambassador Advisory Board of the non-profit organization, The World of Children Award.
