Biography
Shay Aaron Gilmore is Senior Counsel in the Compliance & Legal Department of NORCAL Group, headquartered in San Francisco, California. In this role, Mr. Gilmore manages all of the Company’s corporate litigation and also supports the Claims, Business Development and Product Development teams.
Previously, Mr. Gilmore was a partner in the Insurance Practice Group in the San Francisco office of Gordon & Rees LLP, where his practice focused on insurance coverage and extra-contractual cases. Prior to that, Mr. Gilmore served as Counsel on the Corporate Litigation Team in the General Counsel’s Office of Fireman’s Fund Insurance Company.
Mr. Gilmore is the 2015 Recipient of the CLM Professional of the Year Award in Litigation Management. Mr. Gilmore received the Rising Star Award by Northern California Super Lawyers from 2009-2012.
Mr. Gilmore serves as a Commissioner for the California State Bar Commission on Judicial Nominees Evaluation (JNE). From 2009 to 2013, Mr. Gilmore served as a member of the Board of Directors for the Transgender Law Center.
Mr. Gilmore received his B.A. in Economics, Spanish and Policy Studies from Rice University in Houston, Texas and his Juris Doctor from The University of Texas School of Law.
