James Connors

Biography

Jim Connors is a Partner at Lewis Johs Avallone Aviles LLP, a respected New York trial firm.  Jim has 19 years of experience defending clients in cases sounding in professional and general liability including matters involving nursing home liability, medical malpractice, premises liability, construction accidents, vehicular negligence, attorney malpractice, religious institution liability and products liability.  He has handled all aspects of defense litigation from inception through trial in New York State Supreme Courts throughout the City of New York, Long Island and Upstate Region.  Jim has successfully tried cases to verdict and has argued extensively before the Appellate Division, Second Department.  He frequently is called upon by nursing home clients to assist with risk management and conduct staff education seminars.  Jim is admitted to practice in the State of New York and the State of Connecticut.  He is also admitted to the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York and the Eastern District of New York.  He earned a Juris Doctor from St. John’s University School of Law.  He obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from The College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, MA. Jim has attained Martindale Hubbel’s highest attorney rating of AV Preeminent for 2017 and 2018.  He is a nominated Member in the Claims and Litigation Management Alliance (CLM).  He also volunteers as the Attorney Advisor for the St. Mary's High School Mock Trial team in Manhasset, NY.  He coaches little league in his home town and is an active Member and a Former Director of the Board of the Community Association of Greater St. James.
