Biography

Wakako Uritani is a partner at Lorber, Greenfield & Polito and works out of the San Francisco office. Her practice focuses on complex litigation matters, including: public entity defense, personal injury, premises liability, products liability, professional liability and construction defect cases. She specializes in the representation of construction professionals in construction defect claims involving apartments, condominiums, high rise commercial buildings, public works, retirement centers and single family homes. She often assists clients in navigating issues of risk management, insurance coverage, contracts and pre-litigation dispute procedures in addition to securing positive litigation results. Her cases frequently involve design issues and applications of various standards of care to professional services. She also counsels businesses on contract formation and disputes.  She has successfully defended municipalities in a variety of matters involving personal injuries including traumatic brain injury and paralysis.

Ms. Uritani has obtained numerous verdicts and awards in her client’s favor.  Prior to joining her current firm, her practice was in public entity defense.  She successfully argued in the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, on appeal on a motion for summary judgment entered in favor of her client.  Ms. Uritani earned her J.D. at Santa Clara University after obtaining her bachelor’s degree in International Relations from Scripps College.  She is admitted to practice in the State Courts of California and the Northern and Eastern Districts of California as well as the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.
