Biography
Rick is currently responsible for overseeing claim issues across all lines of business at Burns & Wilcox and Burns & Wilcox Brokerage ,which are part of the H.W. Kaufman Group of Companies. This includes getting involved in large complex claims , coverage disputes with its carrier partners and advocating for their clients on claim service issues. Rick has over 35 years of Claims experience primarily with Insurance Companies. Most recently prior to his current role with Burns he served as Senior Vice President and Chief Claims Officer for Maxum Specialty Insurance. In that role, Rick led a team of 40 claims professionals in six business divisions including Transportation, Property, Casualty, Professional and other classes.
Rick graduated with a B.A. in Business Economics from The College of Wooster in Ohio. He also has Associate in Claims (AIC) and Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) designations.
