Biography

Bill is a seasoned trial attorney with extensive trial experience. He has obtained successful verdicts defending clients in construction, complex product liability, premises liability, dram shop, auto and sports and recreation matters. Bill represents product manufacturers, contractors, resorts, shopping malls, restaurants and major real estate developers. In addition, Bill counsels his resort clients to help them avoid or minimize liability risks. For example, he recently secured a summary judgment in favor of a recreational facility in a wrongful death case by enforcing the release agreement that Melick & Porter had drafted. The son of educators, Bill is a member of the Board of Trustee Advisors at the Nativity School of Worcester and the Board of Visitors at his alma mater Worcester Academy. Bill has earned Martindale Hubbell's highest AV (Preeminent) Peer Review Rating. He serves on the Board of Directors for the Massachusetts Defense Lawyers Association where he chairs the Trial Practice section. Bill has been selected as a "Massachusetts Super Lawyer” and as one of “New England’s Top Rated Lawyers.” An intercollegiate athlete at Williams College, Bill obtained his legal education at Suffolk University Law School where he was a Law Review editor.
