Michael Zigelman

Biography

Michael Zigelman concentrates his insurance coverage practice in directors and officers liability, professional liability, fiduciary liability and ERISA-related claims, financial institutions, toxic/mass tort and environmental matters, as well as general liability. Mr. Zigelman also represents clients in reinsurance disputes involving various financial lines, as well as property and casualty. Michael also provides advice and counsel on reinsurance-related issues arising out of contentious and non-contentious matters.

Mr. Zigelman’s experience includes the drafting of coverage position letters and coverage opinions, as well as litigating complex insurance coverage matters for insurers and reinsurers throughout the United States. Michael has also been involved with, and has had great success in negotiating settlements on behalf of his clients via mediation and arbitration. Additionally, Michael routinely drafts insurance policies and endorsements for all lines of coverage, and has argued substantive motions and appeals in both state and federal courts.

Michael frequently presents continuing legal education seminars on topics ranging from the impact and fallout of the Madoff fraud to recent developments with the FDIC and failed banks.
