Biography

Caroline graduated from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor in 2005, and she received her J.D., cum laude, from Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska in 2008.  Caroline began her career in the Claim Department of IAT Insurance Group, where she handled a variety of complex claims, as well as bad faith and coverage cases, and managed the work of third-party claims administrators.  In April 2014, Caroline helped lead the creation of IAT’s Corporate Litigation department, which was tasked with handling all coverage and bad faith litigation involving IAT companies, providing the claim staff with coverage opinions and advice on legal strategy in underlying liability claims, and overseeing all aspects of IAT’s litigation management program.  With the department’s transition into an enterprise-wide Legal Department, Caroline moved into her current position as Senior Counsel, providing in-house legal support to all departments and locations in the organization with a focus on underwriting issues, policy drafting, and contract review and management, as well as general regulatory and compliance-related matters.
