Melanie Irvin

Biography

Melanie Irvin is Counsel for Branch, a Columbus, Ohio based insurtech startup that features bundled home and auto powered by community.  Branch is innovating the way in which consumers purchase bundled home and auto coverage, where your name and address will get you an instant and accurate price. Melanie joined Branch in 2019.  She is responsible for all things legal, including regulatory compliance and helping to bring Branch to a community near you. Prior to joining Branch, Melanie handled complex and high exposure commercial transportation claims at National Interstate Insurance.  She also practiced law for eight years, most recently as a litigation attorney at Gallagher Sharp LLP.

Melanie received a Bachelor of Arts from John Carroll University and a Juris Doctorate from the Cleveland-Marshall College of Law at Cleveland State University.  She is licensed to practice law in the State of Ohio.

Currently, Melanie is a Regional Chair for Region Two of the Claims and Litigation Management Alliance (CLM).  She has previously served in various leadership roles for both the Northeast Ohio and Central Ohio Local Chapters of CLM. She is also a Trustee of the Board of the Ohio Association of Civil Trial Attorneys (OACTA), and the recipient of the 2017 OACTA Outstanding Young Lawyer Award.

In her free time, Melanie enjoys running, barre class, wine, cooking, and watching her beloved Cleveland sports teams.
