Biography

Meredith Cavallaro is a member of Paduano & Weintraub LLP and has been with the firm since October 2000. Her practice is devoted to litigation and employment.
 
Meredith has been lead counsel defending employers in state, federal and administrative actions brought by former and/or present employees alleging discriminatory conduct including race, gender, age and disability discrimination, hostile work environment, sexual harassment, pregnancy discrimination and retaliation. She has been lead counsel defending corporations in single plaintiff and class actions involving violations of wage statutes. She defends employers in cases involving restrictive covenants, unfair competition, breach of fiduciary duty and trade secrets.
 
Meredith assists clients in risk management and advises employers on compliance with employment laws including issues such as medical leaves of absence, reasonable accommodation, the interactive process and retaliation. She advises employers on wage compliance and mitigating class action litigation risks. She implements performance improvement plans, structures terminations, and advises on restructuring and reductions in force. Meredith provides management and employee training seminars.
 
Meredith also represents companies and their directors and officers in complex commercial litigation. She regularly defends start-ups, midsize and large corporations in partnership and shareholder disputes, intellectual property disputes and contractual disputes.
