Biography

Gwen Gatson-Long is a Senior Claims Adjuster, handling construction defect claims. She is proud to have achieved her CCP designation through Claims College.   She has been involved in diversity and inclusion spanning several careers.  While a Girl Scouts USA Local Board Member she co-chaired the Pluralism Committee, which was responsible for assuring diversity through coordinating and implementing policy.  She was also a certified diversity awareness facilitator, training other board members, leaders and staff.   As a founding member of Advocates for Valley African American Students, a parent advocacy organization, Gwen assists families in navigating the complex journey to a college education or a fulfilling career.  She recently co-wrote an article for the CLM Construction Claims magazine on diversity hiring.   The organization, AVAAS has launched the AVAAS Career Academy, partnering with the Invest program to introduce 21st Century Hybrid Workforce careers to young students and expanding to career entry or re-entry of certain adults.  Currently serving as a Board Member of the newly chartered National African American Insurance Association Los Angeles Chapter NAAIA-LA
