Biography

Robert focuses his practice on the defense of employment, professional liability and commercial litigation claims. As part of his employment practice, Robert has handled and resolved hundreds of sensitive discrimination, harassment and wage claims for his clients and in multiple jurisdictions across the country. In the area of professional liability litigation, Robert has successfully defended attorneys, accountants, insurance agents and design professionals. Robert is also an experienced commercial litigator, regularly appearing before the Commercial Division of the Supreme Court for the County of New York (Manhattan), as well as handling litigated matters involving massive electronically stored information (ESI) discovery disputes. Across all areas of his practice, Robert and his team leverage their knowledge of cutting edge e-discovery technologies for tactical advantage.

Robert and his team advise employers on issues involving non-competes, trade secrets, intellectual property, as well as best practices for social media usage and anti-discrimination and harassment training. In his practice, Robert frequently litigates disputed claims under the ADA, Title VII, FLSA, FMLA, FDCPA, FCRA, as well as state and local laws, such as the NY Executive Law, the NY Labor Law and the New York City Administrative Code.

Robert is an invited speaker on topics including e-discovery litigation strategies and emerging employer liabilities under the Affordable Care Act, and has provided detailed advice to liability carriers and employer groups on the impacts of Sections 1557 and 1558 of that act.
