Jody Townsend

Biography

Jody Townsend is a Claim Manager in the Workers Compensation field at RTW, Inc. / State Auto Insurance Companies.  She manages workers compensation adjusters in multi-state jurisdictions that handle all the regulatory state form filing and payments as well as the day to day claim handling with aggressive return to work and litigation strategies.  In addition, she is actively engaged in Medicare Section 111 Reporting, Conditional Payment Liens, and Medicare Set-Asides.Jody began her insurance career in 1996 when she took a position as an Office Systems Coordinator at RTW, Inc.  Since that time she worked as an Invoice Review Specialist, Claims Coordinator, and Claim Adjuster.  Jody has succeeded in managing the litigation process and managing workers’ compensation claims to closure to minimize claims costs.  One of her areas of expertise is that of claim compliance.  She has provided claim oversight and support for the national claims process to ensure consistent claims practices.  Jody obtained her Bachelor of Science degree from Minnesota State University, Mankato, in 1993.  She majored in Office Systems Management / Business Education and minored in Business Administration.Jody resides in southern Minnesota with her husband and son.  She is the President of an Emergency Medical Responder crew certified by Minnesota Emergency Medical Services Regulatory Board.
