Biography

Christopher J. Dallavo is a senior trial attorney in Chubb's Chicago House Counsel office - Schueler, Dallavo & Casieri. He is one of the founding members of the office, which opened in 2000. His practice includes counseling claim representatives and defending a broad spectrum of cases, including causes of action based on premises liability, product liability, negligence in the operation of personal and commercial motor vehicles, wrongful discharge, property damage, animal negligence, failure to procure insurance, subrogation and construction negligence. He is experienced in defending professional liability litigation for professionals such as debt collectors, security providers, freight forwarders and property managers. Mr. Dallavo has handled cases in many counties throughout the State of Illinois, as well as the U.S. District Courts for the Northern, Central and Southern Districts of Illinois. He has tried jury and bench trials to verdict in Cook County and Kane County. He has written and argued appeals in the First, Second and Third Districts of the Illinois Appellate Court and written appeals in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit. He is a member of the Illinois Society of Trial Lawyers, for which he currently serves on the Board of Directors. He previously served on the Judicial Review Committee of the Chicago Bar Association and as a certified arbitrator for the Circuit Court of Cook County and the Circuit Court for the Sixteenth Judicial Circuit (Kane County). He is a Director for the Henry Schueler 41&9 Foundation, an organization dedicated to funding research into pediatric high risk leukemia and fungal infections. He was born in Dearborn, Michigan and attended high school in Barrington, Illinois. He lives in Western Springs, Illinois with his wife and two daughters. He serves as a Commissioner for the Western Springs Park District and as a Director for the Western Springs Fire Pension Board.
