Reed has over 24 years of professional liability claims experience, as well as ten years of law-firm litigation experience. Reed began his insurance career in 1978, working in the the Architects and Engineer’s Professional Liability Program for Shand, Morahan and Company (now Markel). He also was a successful appellate attorney in the Federal Appellate courts, and drafted petitions for review that were accepted by the United States Supreme Court. Reed then moved back into claim in 1995 and since that time has concentrated on the issues facing professional liability insurers and their insureds. He has designed insurance products for insurers, provided new and innovative risk management services, and handled hundreds of professional liability claims.
