Biography
Jeffrey Chen joined Swiss Re in 2021, and currently holds the position of Vice President- Claims Manager Regional I (Re-insurance). Jeffrey has a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, Honors, from Johns Hopkins University and a Juris Doctorate, Cum Laude, from Boston University School of Law.
Jeffrey Chen was a litigator and trial attorney from 2006 to 2013. Jeffrey started his legal career in private practice as a medical malpractice defense attorney in New York. He expanded his range of experience in civil litigation to engage in litigation and trial work in areas including medical malpractice, general liability and plaintiff’s litigation.
In 2013, Jeffrey joined AIG as a Senior Claims Analyst in the Complex Casualty Department, specializing in Construction Defect. In 2015, Jeffrey joined ACE/CHUBB as a Claims Director in Excess Casualty. Thereafter, in 2016, Jeffrey joined AXIS as Senior Claims Specialist handling complex claims arising from bodily injury and property damage claims relating to environmental, life sciences, construction, premise, product liability, class actions, trucking and commercial auto. In 2020, Jeffrey was promoted to Assistant Vice President, managing a team of Excess Casualty adjusters as well as continuing to handle his own claim load comprised of Excess claims. In 2021, Jeffrey joined Swiss Re as a Team Lead of a Re-insurance claims unit at Swiss Re.
Jeffrey is a member of FDCC and a faculty member of CLM and PLRB. In addition, he is also a board member of several key committees within CLM. He holds Independent Adjuster licenses in several states. In addition, he is a license attorney with the State of New York.
