Katja Kunzke

Biography

 Katja Kunzke is the President and CEO of Wisconsin Lawyers Mutual Insurance Company, a lawyers’ malpractice insurance company.  Prior to becoming CEO in 2004, she directed the claims department for 14 years.She is a member of the board of directors for the National Association of Bar Related Insurance Companies and served as the president from 2012-2013.  From 2011-2012, she was on the Property and Casualty Conference Board of the National Association of Mutual Insurance Companies.  She served for seven years on the ABA Committee on Lawyers Professional Liability, and is a past president of both the Civil Trial Counsel of Wisconsin and the State Bar of Wisconsin Young Lawyers Division.  She is a 1982 graduate of the University of Wisconsin Law School.  Katja also serves as a school volunteer and a volunteer mediator for the Dane County Bar Association.  Katja immigrated from Germany with her family in 1960 and has two daughters and three grandchildren.
