Mark James

Biography

Prior to joining CLIC, Mark was a partner at one of the premier Texas boutique insurance litigation law firms. While there, Mark focused his practice on insurance litigation involving coverage issues and bad faith claims in both state and federal court, including extensive courtroom experience. He represented several national and regional carriers and has represented CLIC since 2010. Mark has experience in handling litigation arising out of homeowners, auto, and commercial property policies. He also has extensive experience in handling labor and employment matters and representing insureds in third-party liability actions.

Now in his 12th year of practice, Mark represents CLIC as General Counsel. His focus is in handling day-to-day issues that arise from property lawsuits, along with corporate and regulatory issues. He personally handles first-party cases from inception through trial, as well as working with outside counsel on strategic maneuvers to limit potential exposure in litigation. Mark has been named to the Texas Rising Stars list for insurance litigation by Super Lawyers in 2014 and 2015.
