Biography

Joseph DiFranco served as Energi Insurance Services first “In House” Technical Investigator and is currently managing the Technical Investigation Team of ERisk Solutions, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Energi. The Technical Investigation Team is responsible for the early response, evaluation and investigation of all claims and losses including but not limited to those involving fire and explosion, accident reconstruction and environmental. Through an investigative model which Joe has been instrumental in implementing, investigators work directly with claims management to identify potential areas of liability, risk transfer and subrogation at the earliest point possible in the evolution of a loss, during the investigation. Retired as a 30 year career firefighter, inspector and investigator for the Peabody, Massachusetts Fire Department in 2014, Joe is a nationally certified fire and explosion investigator and vehicle fire investigator with 16 years of experience in fire and explosion investigations. Joe is a recent Past President and current member of the Fire Prevention Association of Massachusetts where he worked to improve fire codes and fire safety through legislation, education and code enhancement in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and nationally. Additionally, Joe has served 2 terms as President of Metro Fire Arson Investigators Association in Massachusetts where he was responsible for the continued investigative training and education of all members including local, regional, state, and federal fire and law enforcement officials. Joe is currently the Assistant VP of ERisk Technical Investigation Division which is staffed with 3 fire and explosion investigators, 2 accident reconstruction technicians and 1 environmental technical investigator. Additionally, Joe has qualified several times as an expert witness for the purpose of fire and explosion testimony.
