Biography
A graduate of the University of Georgia with a degree in Risk Management and Insurance, Melissa Welden has been a claims professional with Central Insurance Companies for over 11 years. Central Insurance Companies writes property and casualty insurance throughout the nation and Melissa is based out of the Southeastern office in Alpharetta, Georgia. Melissa has held various titles throughout her tenure and is currently serving as a Senior Liability Claims Specialist. Melissa handles a variety of large casualty files, in and out of litigation. Melissa’s claims handling experience focuses primarily on insurance coverage, construction defect, products liability, personal and advertising injury liability and catastrophic injury and death claims. Melissa has attended hundreds of mediations and trials nationwide but is primarily concentrated in the southeastern United States. In addition to her undergraduate degree, Melissa has completed several insurance industry designations, including Associate in Claims (AIC), Supervisory Management (SM), Senior Claim Law Associate (SCLA) and is currently working on her Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter designation (CPCU).
