Karl Aittaniemi

Biography

Mr. Karl Aittaniemi holds a bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering from Southern Illinois University – Carbondale in addition to an MBA from Worcester Polytechnic Institute, Worcester Massachusetts.  He also earned a Certificate of Graduate Study in Fire Protection Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute, Worcester, Massachusetts.

Mr. Aittaniemi is a professional engineer and has an extensive professional background in fire protection product evaluation and has managed fire protection investigation projects in accordance with nationally recognized model codes and standards.  He has conducted numerous full-scale and small-scale regulatory fire tests in laboratory environments for passive fire protection systems and discrete building material products to determine suitability for intended use and to explain cause of failure.

A majority of Karl’s work involves the analysis of fire detection and suppression systems including fire sprinkler design and performance, fire alarm system design and performance, restaurant hood and duct design, maintenance and performance, discrete products and fire protection engineering.
