Lee’s eclectic travels in healthcare started eons ago in the prehospital care circuit followed by gross anatomy with the Medical Examiner’s office. As a Red Cross Chairman responsible for communications, logistics and planning he developed response plans and deployed on a number of local and region drills and operations – including Loma Prieta and Northridge. For the past 26 years his endeavors moved to healthcare claims followed by a focus on risk management with a niche in adverse event case management. He is presently a senior member of CAP’s adverse event’s management team specializing in the “apology/disclosure” process which inherently includes mediating patient and physician communication and integration. It also involves fault engineering and dissecting errors in systems, process and design – all which makes good use of his UCLA Law post graduate education and his past life experiences in prehospital and hospital care/CCRN Core Curriculum. He has been a member of SCAHRM more than 20 years and involved with its Education and Nominating Committees, and is President for the 2015-2016 session. In his spare time he enjoys wine hunting and field testing new Zinfandels, Malbecs and Cabs.
